Bluemels Style Fenders for 700c (28) Wheels, Matte Black (38-48mm Tire Width)
When selecting a fender, the wheel size and tire width must be considered. The fender size is determined by the wheel and tire dimensions. It is crucial to know your wheel size, which can be found on the tire wall. Road bikes and urban bikes typically have narrower 700c or 28" wheels, while mountain bikes are usually 29" (29er), 27.5", or 26". Smaller wheels are 20" or 24".
The fender profile needs to be at least 5mm wider than the tire width, which can also be found on the tire wall. SKS Germany fender profile widths are specified in the fender name (e.g., B55 is 55mm wide).
Bluemels are bolt-on fenders that, once installed, are not easily or quickly removable. Bolt-on fenders offer more coverage and stability, as they are affixed to the frame with bolts. Quick-release fenders are a different setup.
When selecting a fender, ensure the profile width fits through the frame's seat stays and fork legs. If the fender is too wide, it won't fit properly.
Mounting Bluemels fenders requires eyelets or frame/fork mounting clamps. If your bike doesn't have eyelets, clamps can be purchased separately. The metal stays that are part of the fender setup may need to be shortened for a proper fit.
All the necessary hardware for Bluemels fender installation is included, but you'll need an 8mm wrench and a 4mm Allen key. If the stays need to be shortened, you'll also need a measuring tape, hacksaw, or bolt cutters.
Bluemels fenders feature a safety release system for the front fender, allowing the struts/stays to be easily uncoupled if branches or debris get caught between the tire and fender.
