Fender sizes are determined by these factors, so it is essential to know your wheel size and tire width. Road bikes and urban bikes typically have narrower tires, often referred to as 700c or 28". Mountain bikes, on the other hand, usually have 29" (29er), 27.5", or 26" wheels. Smaller wheels can be 20" or 24".

The fender profile needs to be at least 5mm wider than the tire. The tire width can be found on the tire wall. SKS Germany's fender profile widths are indicated in the fender's name (e.g., B55 is 55mm wide).

Bluemels fenders are bolt-on, meaning they are not easily or quickly removed once installed. Bolt-on fenders offer more coverage and stability as they are secured to the frame with bolts. Quickrelease fenders are a different setup.
